SINBAD Preview

Here are three pages of artwork by my amigo Eduardo Barreto for our proposed “Arabian Nights” graphic novel, Sinbad: The Coils of the Serpent. We do not have a  publisher for the project – but then, I haven’t started shopping it around yet. I do expect to start pitching it to editors in a  month or so, once we have the first chapter completed.

The story is an original adventure of the legendary Persian sailor, chock-full of sorcery, monsters, pirates, ancient civilizations, swordplay, pirates and beautiful women. Hopefully, someone out there will want to publish it.

Keep your fingers crossed!

This looks fantastic. I’ve like Barretto’s work since his Aquaman limited series. It’s a call back to the greats – Williamson, Torres, and Frazetta. I hope it gets a home.

I agree Barretto’s artwork is fantastic, it should really bring your story to life. I wouldn’t think it would be hard selling this to a publisher. Good luck.

I think it would really make this possible comic more appealing and exciting if the storyline includes the Arabian Nights adventures of Sinbad. My suggestion would be to include the famous adventure of Sinbad and the demonic and murderous Old Man of the Sea, who through deception and trickery, would mount the shoulders of shipwrecked sailors and ride them mercilessly until their deaths.

  1. Unfortunately, with the sad passing of artist Eduardo Barreto, this project will never be completed in any shape or form.
